GDA Chair
CHRISTIAN AVERISS
Chris Averiss joined the GDA Board in 2006 and was elected Chair in 2008. He has a profoundly deaf son and says he was drawn to the work of the charity, having seen the benefits derived by his son in attending our deaf kids club, GDKZ. Chris has experience of running a successful small business; he is also part way through a Law degree.
GDA Trustee/Director
PATRICK BRYAN
Patrick Bryan is one of two profoundly deaf trustees on the GDA Board and is a native signer. He provides an important link to the Deaf Community, being Chair of Gloucester Deaf Sports and Social Club, which shares the Colin Road premises with Gloucestershire Deaf Association.
GDA Trustee/Director
JEREMY DAVIES
Jeremy Davies joined the GDA Board in 2009, soon after retiring from a long career in sales and account management. He has the responsibility of being Finance Director, and his particular skills include IT, web development and data management. Jeremy is a bi-lateral hearing aid wearer.
GDA Trustee/Director
JACQUELINE (JACKIE) GLOYN
Jackie Gloyn is a committed charity fundraiser and supports a number of good causes. She joined the GDA Board in 2008 and heads the Fundraising sub-committee. She also heads Friends of GDA. Jackie has severe hearing loss in both ears.
GDA Trustee/Director
MICHAEL LAW
One of GDA's newer trustees/directors, Michael Law has been involved with the charity for a few years, both as a volunteer and also as a member of Gloucester's Hard of Hearing Club. He joined the Board in 2011. Michael is a reitred Metropolitan police officer. He has moderate-severe hearing loss in both ears.
GDA Trustee/Director
ROSEMARY MORGAN
Rosemary Morgan is one of GDA's longest serving trustees with special responsibility for Youth. She has been Youth Leader of GDYZ for many years. She has recently been shortlisted for a national 'Community Spirit' award in recognition of her volunteer work with Deaf young people. Rosemary has mild hearing loss.
GDA Trustee/Director
STEPHEN YORKE
Steve Yorke rejoined the GDA Board in 2011, having taken a break due to work commitments. He is one of two profoundly deaf trustees and a native signer. He is an active member of Gloucester Deaf Sports and Social Club and, like Patrick, provides an important link to the Deaf Community.
