Lip reading classes in Gloucestershire

Cheltenham, Cinderford, Cirencester, Gloucester and Stroud

LLip reading classip reading, which is based on recognising lip shapes, is an essential life skill for people with hearing loss. For many, it is also a confidence boost to share experiences with others and to pick up strategies for coping in different social situations.

In April 2011, Gloucestershire Deaf Association (GDA) took over the county-wide provision of lip reading classes from NHS Gloucestershire Hearing Services. Although this is without funding support, GDA took up the challenge because of our belief in the value of this service to people with hearing impairment.

GDA's qualified lip reading tutors are very experienced and their classes are well known for being informative, fun and relaxed. Sessions are open to everyone and cost £3 per session. New members are welcome at any time; however, if you wish to sign up for a ten-week course in advance, you are invited to attend your first class for free to see if you enjoy it before enrolling.

Find out how our lip reading classes can help you manage your hearing loss and boost your confidence, as well as provide an opportunity to make new friends.
