The New Year sees the start of a new term of weekly lip reading classes run by GDA around the county, in Cheltenham, Cinderford, Cirencester, Gloucester and Stroud.

 

Sessions cost £3, with the first session free for newcomers. People can join at any time.

 

GDA's qualified lip reading tutors are very experienced and our classes are informative, fun and relaxed. Lip reading, which is based on recognising lip shapes, is an essential life skill for people with hearing loss.  For many it is also a confidence boost to share experiences and strategies for coping in different social situations.

 

Gloucestershire Deaf Association (GDA) took over the county-wide provision of lip reading classes from NHS Gloucestershire last year.  The association does not receive funding for the service.
